Rihanna Man Down Lyrics Youtube

##title##
Eminem and his manager reached out to Rihanna after listening to a track that da Kid produced, noting her ideality; Rihanna appreciated the song's theme, claiming it to be one that she can reflect on. The recording sessions took place at Effigy Studios in Michigan and Sun Studios in Dublin. The mid-tempo hardcore hip hop song plays vocals over acoustic guitars and a piano. A multitude of recording artists have covered or remixed the song, including The Pretty Reckless, Cher Lloyd, Ariana Grande, Alex Feather Akimov and Rudiger. Rihanna recorded and released "Love the Way You Lie (Part II)", a sequel of the song on Rihanna's album, Loud; it is mostly narrated from the female perspective, unlike the original.
Joseph Kahn directed and filmed the song's accompanying music video in late July 2010, for which Los Angeles was selected as the setting. He hired thespians Dominic Monaghan and Megan Fox to play the starring roles of a love–hate relationship, while Eminem and Rihanna would sing in front of a burning house. Although Kahn praised Fox's acting and appearance, heavy and explicit use of domestic violence in the video sparked controversy. Speculation also initially arose from fans and critics that video sought influence from the relationships of Eminem and Rihanna with Kimberly Scott and Chris Brown, respectively. In 2010, "Love the Way You Lie" was performed at the Electronic Entertainment Expo 2010, T in the Park, Oxegen 2010 and 2010 MTV Video Music Awards; the following year, Eminem performed the song at the Bonnaroo Music Festival, Lollapalooza and V2011. Eminem also appeared at Rihanna's Last Girl on Earth Tour (2010).
Eminem revealed "Love the Way You Lie" on May 27, 2011, as one of the sixteen known songs on the track listing of Eminem's seventh studio album, Recovery. In the song, Eminem raps about a girl whom he loves, despite not earning her respect, with increasing aggression in his voice. Access Hollywood asked if such a topic had any influence on Rihanna's decision to work with Eminem, due to her violently ending relationship with Chris Brown. The fact that Eminem sent Rihanna the record meant much to her, as she used the words "deep", "beautiful" and "intense" to describe the song; Rihanna stated that the song's topic is one that she is able to reflect on, and would be successful for that reason.

In an interview with Ben Lyons of E!, Rihanna said that she considered Eminem's request to collaborate in admiration of him: "And, of course, I was like, 'OK, if I love it, I'll definitely do it, because I love Eminem.' And I love the song." She described her reaction to the finished version, saying, "It's really beautiful, and it really stands out. It's a really unique record. I'm really excited about it." Skyrock FM, a radio station in Paris, interviewed Eminem about three featured artists on Recovery, including Lil Wayne (from "No Love"), Pink (from "Won't Back Down") and Rihanna. He said, "And the other one I did with Rihanna is one of those tracks that I felt like only she could pull it off, only she could do it."

American recording artist Skylar Grey, one of "Love the Way You Lie"'s songwriters, has discussed her work on the song in interviews. The writing process felt "natural" and when she wrote the chorus, it was as she would write one for herself. Grey apparently "knew that Eminem was the guy to keep in mind for the track". At Lollapalooza 2011, she told Billboard magazine that Eminem is a "really cool guy." She called him "sarcastic" and went on to discuss about how she is "inspired to be working with him because he is such a true artist." Grey also said that she is impressed with Eminem's lyricism, and is "blown away constantly by him."
Rihanna further explained to MTV News that the song is inspirational and affects listeners personally, calling it "authentic" and realistic. She appreciated Eminem's willingness and ability to write a song which, as she believed, "just broke down the cycle of domestic violence"; she concluded that "Love the Way You Lie"'s topic is one that only a small group of people would be conscious of, giving for an effective song. "Love the Way You Lie" was released as the second single from the album through Interscope Records, following a leak on the Internet on June 8, 2010. When Billboard asked the song's English hip hop producer Alex da Kid about his reaction to its success following its release, he said that he was not surprised and further praised Rihanna's contribution to the song.

"Em[inem] reminds me of one of my friends from back home. It was just so natural. I forgot in two seconds that he was the biggest-selling artist of the decade. He knows what he's doing. Me and him mixed [the song] together and he's not like somebody that's telling somebody what to do. We were both on the board turning knobs. The atmosphere and the vibe down there was just super cool." Da Kid, who produced the song, participated in an interview with Rap-Up magazine to discuss the song's recording process. During the first quarter of 2010, da Kid offered Shady Records Senior Director Rigo "Riggs" Morales a selection of backing tracks, a few of which Morales enjoyed. Knowing that Eminem wanted to try something different, he sent the tracks to him. Eminem first heard "Airplanes", by B.o.B and Hayley Williams, and liked it, prompting a sequel that Eminem featured in. When asked if da Kid had any other tracks, he presented Eminem with "Love the Way You Lie", one that would then lead to a collaborative project. Eminem prompted his manager for a collaboration, telling him, "I definitely want to get Rihanna on this." The track included a chorus, written and sung by Grey.[note 1] When Eminem's manager, Paul Rosenberg, sent the track to Rihanna, she accepted Eminem's request to work with her. On most songs that Eminem writes, Detroit musician Luis Resto adds additional keyboards and arrangement to the track; however, "Love the Way You Lie" did not require Resto's contribution, as the track was already "complete". According to Mike Strange, who mixed and recorded the song, "Everything we needed was already in the track, apart from the vocals." Eminem's recording sessions took place at Effigy Studios in Ferndale, Michigan. Strange took responsibility for recording and mixing Eminem's vocals, and Marcos Tovar was responsible for Rihanna's sessions, with the help of Baltimore-born songwriter Makeba Riddick for additional vocal production. After Eminem's vocals were recorded, they were cut using D-Verb—a reverberation software—with an Extra Long Delay plug-in installed. Strange preferred making little modifications to a vocal track, but board compression and equalization (EQ) were also used. He also set other mixing tools up, including the Bricasti and Eventide Reverb 2016, which are more appropriate for "brighter" reverberation. Da Kid's tracks were well recorded and did not require too much work; he used Waves RVerb and REQ equalization on the main bass track with additional use of the MaxxBass plug-in on two other bass tracks. Strange almost exclusively used the console equalization and compression. According to him, "It was simply a matter of trying to match and then to improve on the demo he'd sent us."
